BALTIC WINE LIST AWARDS

Svetlana Javorskaja

Moon’s drinks list has been developed under the direction of Svetlana Javorskaja and has received recognition at the Baltic Wine List Awards. When building the selection, she considers Moon’s cuisine, seasonal dishes and different taste preferences.

The wine list includes classic regions and smaller producers, alongside local drinks and alcohol-free options. At the restaurant, our team can help you choose a suitable drink.

A good drink pairing shouldn’t overshadow the dish – it should help bring its flavours forward.

FOUR GOOD STARTING POINTS

How to choose a drink

Balance of flavours

The sweetness, acidity and body of a drink should support the flavours of the dish. With dessert, the drink should generally be at least as sweet as the food. Good acidity can bring freshness to richer dishes, while very high alcohol and tannin are often best avoided with spicy food.

Similarity or contrast

A drink can complement the flavours of a dish or provide contrast. A fresh sparkling wine, for example, can work well with richer and saltier food, while a softer dish may pair naturally with a similarly rounded and gentle wine.

Match the intensity

Lighter dishes usually work well with fresher, more delicate drinks, while stronger flavours can stand up to a fuller wine or another more characterful choice. The aim is for neither to overpower the other.

Your taste matters most

Pairing recommendations are a starting point, not a set of rules. Our team can help you find something that suits both your dish and your own preferences.

The Albariño’s freshness and light citrus character balance the richness of the herb butter and crisp breading, while working well with the delicate flavour of the chicken.

FROM MOON’S WINE LIST

Regions and styles to explore

Moon’s wine list is developed by Managing Director and Sommelier Svetlana Javorskaja. It includes well-known wine regions and smaller producers, as well as Estonian wines, ciders and other local drinks.

Champagne

France

The list includes Champagne from several smaller producers, including Blanc de Blancs, Blanc de Noirs, rosé and vintage Champagne. De Sousa Extra Brut is available by the glass.

Burgundy

France

The Burgundy selection includes Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from different areas, including Chablis and Meursault, as well as Crémant de Bourgogne. These wines work well with fish, poultry and richer dishes.

Alsace and Loire

France

From Alsace, the selection includes Riesling and Gewürztraminer; from the Loire, Sancerre, Chenin Blanc and Pinot Noir. Their freshness and acidity work well with many of Moon’s starters and fish dishes.

Northern Italy

Italy

The selection from Lombardy, Veneto, Piedmont and Trentino ranges from fresh whites to more characterful reds. The list includes styles and varieties such as Lugana, Pinot Grigio, Arneis, Soave, Pinot Nero and Barolo.

Rioja and Ribera del Duero

Spain

The Spanish selection includes white, rosé and red wines. Tempranillo-based wines from Rioja and Ribera del Duero work particularly well with lamb, beef and dishes with stronger flavours.

Estonian drinks

Estonia

Moon’s drinks list includes Estonian sparkling wines, berry wine, rhubarb wine, ice cider, craft ciders, gins, liqueurs and alcohol-free drinks. The local selection offers an opportunity to discover Estonian producers alongside more traditional wine choices.

Alcohol-free options
