We are delighted and honoured to share some wonderful news – Restaurant Moon is once again part of the prestigious MICHELIN Guide’s recommended selection in 2026. This is our fifth consecutive recognition (2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026), and a sign that we are heading in the right direction.

Our first year in our new home

The 2026 recommendation has special meaning for us – this is our first year in our new home at Telliskivi 60/4, building G, where we moved last summer after 15 years on Võrgu street. Moments like these test the whole team’s cooperation, flexibility and dedication. The fact that MICHELIN inspectors have found their way to us after the move and continue to recommend Moon in our new home is the most important reassurance for the team that we made the right decision.

Thank you to our team and guests

This recognition would not be possible without our wonderful team. Everyone at Moon plays their part in making every detail count and every guest feel cared for.

We would especially like to thank head chef Roman Zaštšerinski, whose creativity, courage and consistent quality are reflected in every plate; Moon’s hostess Jana Zaštšerinski, whose warm hospitality and care create the right atmosphere in our dining room; and the soul of Moon, Svetlana Javorskaja – our sommelier, whose professionalism and deep knowledge of wine have enriched every guest’s dining experience.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the entire team – the kitchen, dining room, sommeliers and managers – and to every guest who has sat at our tables over the past five years, followed us to our new location and believed in us.

MICHELIN Guide Estonia 2026 at a glance

• Two Stars: 180° by Matthias Diether (retained) • One Star: NOA Chef's Hall (retained) • Bib Gourmand: nine restaurants – Viljandi Fellin, Lore Bistroo, Mantel ja Korsten, NOA, Uma, Tuljak, and newcomers Fume, Fotografiska and Vesta • Recommended: 32 restaurants, including Moon • Green Star: Fotografiska, Hiis, Kolm Sõsarat

There are 43 Estonian restaurants in total – the same number as in 2025, with seven new names joining the selection. Cafe Tempo, Põhjala Tap Room, Restoran O2, Riva and Sadu joined the Main Selection in 2026.

Four outstanding individuals were also recognised: the Young Chef award went to Gerli Travkin (Fotografiska), the Service award to Karl-Friedrich Kuusk (Vesta), the Sommelier award to Aleksei Pogrebnoi (NOA Chef's Hall), and the Opening of the Year award to Heinrich Liis (Fume).

A few words from head chef Roman

Moon’s head chef Roman Zaštšerinski spoke to ERR about the role of the Telliskivi quarter in Moon’s journey:

Roman Zaštšerinski: “The Telliskivi quarter and all of this feel like a big win. I know that many people I know who are a little further away from the good locations have a much harder time. People are very selective about where they go and are really voting with their wallets at the moment.”

Asked whether Moon aspires to a MICHELIN Star, Roman answered honestly:

Roman Zaštšerinski: “Absolutely not – I hope it doesn’t happen to us. It’s a big fear for us, because on the one hand it brings in a lot more customers, but if we can’t maintain it the following year, it could kill our business. We’re a modest little 150-seat restaurant in Telliskivi.”

A sign that we are on the right path

For us, a MICHELIN recommendation is not a goal in itself – it is a sign that we are on the right path. It encourages us to work even harder to bring you honest, seasonal flavours, created from the heart, with passion and respect for our ingredients.

See you at Moon in Telliskivi.

– Roman, Jana, Igor, Svetlana and the entire Moon team

Summary

Restaurant Moon is recommended in the MICHELIN Guide Estonia 2026 for the fifth consecutive year. Among 43 Estonian restaurants – our first year in our new home in Telliskivi.
